Sycamore Stallion Art Project Preview

Under the creative leadership of Ms. Gilbert, one of our ESC Art Teachers, our children are creating beautiful collaborative works of art to be auctioned at RidgeRaising. These projects will be displayed at the event in the Sycamore Stallion Art Gallery, courtesy of Scott White Contemporary Art. Each class will be creating an art project, with each grade working in the same medium. Here is a sneak peak at these amazing pieces in progress.

These beautiful paintings, titled "Floral Field", were created by the second graders, using watercolor and pastels, with the finish project to measure 24" x 36". Each student drew and painted one flower to contribute to the collaboration.

The piece above is the beginning of one of the first grade art projects. Titled "City Skyline", made of wood & acrylic assemblage, measuring 2' x3', the first graders are creating a "village", with each child contributing a "building" to the skyline.

This is the fourth grade art project, titled "Trees of Wisdom", made of metal, wood & acrylic and measuring 24" x 36". Each "leaf" is decorated by a fourth grader, and inscribed with a famous quote or their own words of wisdom.

The fifth grades are creating "Faces I'll Remember" using linoleum block prints on recycled materials. The final work will measure 24" x 36". The artistry of each of these prints in amazing to see in person.

The third grade art projects are the "Village Vases" shown above, made of clay and glaze. Each child created a "medallion" of clay, which combined into the vases, have been fired and will now be glazed.

The Kindergartners are working on mixed media collages on canvas measuring 2' by 4' which will be titled "Little Swimmers". The sixth graders are creating projects called "Spirit of Sycamore" which include digital art in a mixed media collage on canvas, measuring 3' x 3'. I hope to have pictures of these works in progress soon.

We would not be able to offer these amazing creations without Ms. Gilbert and our wonderful ESC program. With that in mind, we will be donating 100% of the proceeds on the sales of the artwork to the DMSEF to support our ESC programs.

We hope to see you at the event!
